The SmartRack 16 is a dual rail rack drawer with a
built-in, integrated 16 port KVM switch. The SmartRack 16 is designed
to answer the growing demand in the rack-mount server environment
for low profile local access at the rack. The integrated LCD/KVM
switch combines the superior KVM control capabilities of the Smart
CAT5 switch with the space saving easy to use RackManager II for
efficient, effective control and management of servers in the rack.
KVM over CAT5 technology
The revolutionary integration of a CAT5 KVM switch
with a rack manager console provides the cleanest server control
at the rack. The 1U unit eliminates the need for bulky KVM cables.
CAT5 KVM technology allows increased ventilation in the rack and
greater flexibility in cable lengths. Servers can be up to 10m/33ft
from the switch, which allows the SmartRack 16 to manage servers
on neighboring racks, reducing the cost of ownership.
Centralized, local access to the servers on
the rack
The 16 port KVM switch is fully integrated with the
1U rack drawer, saving you valuable rack space. The built-in, KVM
switch allows you to connect up to 16 servers to the SmartRack 16,
with support for multiple platforms (PS/2, SUN, USB). Control up
to 256 servers when cascaded with the Smart CAT5 8/16.
Dual rail rack management
Occupying a mere 1U of rack space, the adjustable dual
rail rack drawer allows users to view the screen even when the rack
door is closed. Multiple control options include multi-layer security
and eight keyboard language options.
